The Young Lawyers Section of the Richmond Bar provides an opportunity for networking and professional development for young and newly admitted attorneys. The section is open to members who are under 38 years of age or who have been a member of the Virginia State Bar for four years or less regardless of their age.
The Committee on Awards & Honors is accepting nominations for the Young Lawyer of the Year Award. Established in 2011, the award is presented by the Bar Association of the City of Richmond to a member of its Young Lawyers Section. The Award is given to a young attorney who has excelled in the practice of law to date and who has shown the potential to become a leader in the legal profession in one or more of the following ways:
* By exceeding the expectations of clients;
* By providing service to the community outside the practice of law;
* By changing and improving perceptions of the legal profession in the Greater Richmond community; and
* By taking a non-traditional path to success in the practice of law.
The Committee encourages you to submit nominations for this year’s award recipient. Each nomination should be accompanied by a short letter of recommendation clearly describing how the nominee meets the award criteria. Nominations are due by December 2, 2019 and should be emailed to:
