SUPPORTING LAWYER WELLNESS: A COMMITMENT TO WELL-BEING

At the Richmond Bar Association (RBA), we recognize the significant pressures that come with practicing law. The legal profession can be rewarding, but it also demands long hours, complex challenges, and high expectations. These factors can take a toll on mental, emotional, and physical health. That’s why the RBA is dedicated to supporting lawyer wellness through a variety of initiatives and resources aimed at promoting the overall well-being of legal professionals.
The Association believes that a healthy lawyer is a more effective advocate for their clients and a stronger contributor to the legal community. Our commitment to wellness includes providing access to mental health support, work-life balance strategies, and wellness-focused educational opportunities. We encourage our members to prioritize self-care and take advantage of the resources available to enhance both their personal and professional lives.
This page serves as a hub for wellness-related information and support, including resources from the Virginia State Bar, local wellness programs, and helpful tips for managing the unique stressors that come with the legal profession. Together, we can create a more balanced, resilient, and healthy legal community.

“Wellness in the legal profession isn’t just a personal issue—it’s a professional imperative. Lawyers who prioritize their health are better equipped to serve clients, meet their professional responsibilities, and achieve success.”
