Ethics in Negotiation
Join us as the Honorable Beverly W. Snukals (Ret.) and Mark E. Rubin, Esq. from The McCammon Group discuss the ethical Rules, principles, and practices involved as lawyers negotiate in mediation as well as in the other areas of their practices. Drawing from the Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct and the ABA Model Rules, the topics addressed will include: competence, honesty, the role of the client in making decisions, communicating with the client, communicating with those affiliated with opposing parties, and threats of criminal sanctions to gain leverage. Hypotheticals will be used to illustrate.
