Effective Motions Practice in Circuit Court

This panel discussion will address how lawyers can most effectively utilize motions in Circuit Court. Discussion will range from dispositive responsive pleadings to motions in limine filed in the lead up to trial. The panelists, the Hon. Bradley B. Cavedo of The Richmond Circuit Court, Hon. Clarence N. Jenkins, Jr. of the Richmond Circuit Court, and Hon. Jayne A. Pemberton of the Chesterfield Circuit Court, will address best practices for persuasively presenting the issues, effectively advocating during oral argument, and overcoming common mistakes. The panelists will also address logistical issue that may be encountered in their respective courts.
