The Bankruptcy Section will host a Luncheon/CLE seminar on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 beginning at 12:30 pm at the Hilton Hotel, 501 E. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219. The program will feature a panel discussion on “Chapter 7 Asset Cases From All Perspectives.” This program will explore the approach taken by debtor’s counsel, Trustee’s counsel, and Chapter 7 Trustees when they encounter an asset Chapter 7 case. Topics covered will include what creates the Chapter 7 Trustee’s ability to sell assets, exemptions that debtor’s counsel should be aware of, the process that a Chapter 7 Trustee must undertake when an asset case is identified, and what can occur if an asset is discovered after a Chapter 7 case has closed. Panelists include Christopher J. Flynn (Boleman), Lynn L. Tavenner (Chapter 7 Trustee; Tavenner & Beran) and Klementina V. Pavlova (Sands Anderson). It is anticipated that the program will be approved for 1.0 hour of MCLE credit. Reservations must be received by February 6th; no refunds will be given after this date.
