The Environmental and Energy Law Section brings together those attorneys with a common interest in safeguarding environmental quality and promoting the practice of environmental law. Membership offers a variety of continuing education and social opportunities. Section annual dues are $20 in addition to being a member of the Richmond Bar Association. JOIN
CLE Seminar & Reception – October 5, 2015
The Environmental & Energy Law Section will host a CLE seminar on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Hunton & Williams. Justin Williams, Director of DEQ’s Land Protection and Revitalization Division, will present a program entitled “Coal Ash – Background, EPA Rule, and EPA and States Implementation.” The EPA released its long anticipated final rule on coal ash management in December 2014. In addition to providing an overview of the historical requirements of the EPA rule, speakers will address the effect of regulation under Subtitle D and enforcement through citizen suits. It is anticipated that this seminar will be approved for 1.0 hour of VA MCLE credit. A reception will follow the seminar. Cost to attend is $15 for section members and $25 for all others. The registration deadline is Thursday, October 1st; there will be no refunds after this date.
